ABOUT ME
I am Emily Dustan, an Accredited Dog Behaviourist, and a certified Dog Training practitioner with over 20 years of hands-on practical experience.
My methods are safe, practical, ethical, and evidence-based in science. I also work with a variety of veterinarians across the country, and have worked with many dog rescues in aiding the rehabilitation of rehomed dogs.
I specialise in dog behaviour and training, and can help you with those relentless and persistent behavioural problems you are having with your dog. This can be general behaviour issues such as barking, leash pulling, jumping up, as well as more complexed issues like fear reactivity, anxiety related issues, extreme trauma, compulsive behaviours, and aggression.
I work with families and their dogs holistically to ensure they receive the best support and coaching to improve their relationships and emotional well-being.

Emily is one of the most amazing dog behaviourists there is. She was recommended to me by my local vet because my puppy was exhibiting signs of anxiety around people. I took him to see her and she has transformed him into a confident very well-behaved dog. She only uses positive reinforcement methods and is staunchly against negative reinforcement (like shock collars) which is an absolute bonus (and non-negotiable for me!). Emily also doesn't just focus her training on the dog, she provides owners with skills, knowledge, and resources to make sure that training is consistent and they feel confident as a dog owner.

I found Emily's training style tailored to both dog and owner. Having a Giant Breed, there are certain things to watch for so this was great. Emily is kind and patient. I felt very comfortable and was sent home with so much knowledge. I look forward to the next training class! Highly recommend.

Emily’s classes were so much fun and a great learning environment for both myself & my puppy. The classes are small and exercises can be tailored to the needs of each puppy. I’ve done both the Puppy Classes & the Life Skills classes and can’t recommend them highly enough!

I can't recommend Emily enough! My American Staffy, Kora, struggles with anxiety which results in her being reactive to other dogs and some humans. We have been seeing Emily over the course of 2 months and have already seen such an improvement in Kora's confidence, as well as making remarkable progress on her reactivity. I have learned SO much since meeting Emily and will be able to use all the material I have been given for the rest of my fur baby's life! Emily is thorough, passionate and just a delight to work with - if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you Emily!!

For all breeds of dogs, most dog kennels require the animal to be at least 12 to 17 weeks (4 months) old. The reason for this is because all certified kennels require incoming puppies to have had their first round of adult shots at 12 weeks, followed by the second round at about 16 weeks.
