ABOUT ME
Kia ora, I am Emily Dustan, an Accredited Dog Behaviourist and Certified Dog Training Professional with over 20 years of hands-on practical experience. Through years of ongoing academic study, I specialise in addressing complex and persistent dog behavioural challenges, as well as supporting puppies through their social and emotional development, tailoring unique techniques to suit your family’s lifestyle.
My methods are safe, practical, evidence-based, and backed by science. I partner with veterinarians internationally and have helped many dog rescues, supporting families with their rehomed dogs.
I approach behaviour modification and dog training with a structured, step-by-step process that’s practical to address dog and puppy behavioural challenges. I work with you every step of the way to understand your situation and your dog’s unique needs.
From common struggles like bringing a new puppy home and wanting to get it right, to barking, leash pulling, and complex concerns like anxiety, trauma, and aggression, my goal is to prevent behaviours from getting worse through proactive environmental management, guiding you with a tailored training program to support your dog’s emotional and behavioural needs for long-term change.
